Made for TV and converted to DVD, this 1976 film stars
a relatively unknown actor (;-> named
John Travolta and
pretty noteworthy supporting cast. From the back cover: "Based upon a true
story, Todd Lubitch was born with a deficient immune system. As such, he had to
spend the rest of his life in a completely sterile environment. His room was
hermetically sealed against bacteria, his food was specially prepared, and his
only human contact was in the form of gloved hands. Unfortunately, this sterile
environment could not protect against human emotions.
This special performance by John Travolta served to underscore the remarkable
career that followed."
This movie also inspired the "Bubble Boy" Seinfeld episode, and a comedy spoof
movie.
