This DVD is in new condition, but we unwrapped it from the manufacturer's
cellophane because we could hear the DVD rattling around in the case, and needed
to re-attach it to it's spool.
A 1953 film that was converted to DVD, this stars
Humphrey Bogart. From
the back cover: "Directed by John Huston and based on the novel written by James
Helvick, and a screen play by Truman Capote, this is a Bogart masterpiece. It
seems that a quartet of international crooks is stranded in Italy, while their
steamer is being repaired. Joining them are the Dannreuthers (Bogart and drop
dead gorgeous Gina Lollabrigida). The six are headed for Africa, presumably to
sell vacuum cleaners, but actually to buy land, supposedly loaded with uranium.
They are joined by others who apparently have similar designs. If you appreciate
a wickedly funny script, with wonderful performances by an all-star cast at it's
best "Beat the Devil" is for you. "
